"Living with Robots"
National Coding Competition
Springfield Secondary School is proud to be the main organiser for the National Coding Competition (NCC) 2018, together with Montfort Secondary School. The competition, supported by MOE, Curriculum Planning and Development Division, seeks to promote interest and develop talent in programming through game development; and to provide and opportunity for students to showcase their work and hone their presentation and communication skills.
The NCC will be held on 28 June 18, Thursday from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm at Springfield Secondary School (for East and South Zone schools) and Montfort Secondary School (for North and West Zone schools). We will like to invite your Upper Primary students to participate in this competition.
Tips and training videos on the use of simple logical reasoning and animation using Scratch, a programming language developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), will also be emailed to all participating schools.

Open to all Primary Schools

Form teams of 3 students

Each School to send no more than 2 teams
Based on the theme: "Living with Robots", each team will code a game with an opening animation using Scratch 2.0

Participants to prepare resources (sprites, backdrop, sound files, etc) and email to us
28 June
Competition Day: 2.5 hours is allocated to complete the coding, No internet is allowed, Teams will be given a 10 min time out to consult their teachers
July
Judging of Submissions: Gold, Silver & Bronze Award
27 July
Award Ceremony: Oral Presentation (for selected teams), Judging for Platinum Award, Presentation of Awards
